This year, I have taken a year-long class with an inspirational teacher, Susan Stein.  In each session, we learned a new technique, and had an opportunity to play freely for a bit.  I have enjoyed the class, and it reminds me of kindergarden craft hour.  Not to say that the techniques are simplistic, but merely that the class emphasizes having fun and playing.  I love learning new techniques, growing as an artist, and discovering what I like (and don’t).

Our topics have included:

Month 1 - Image transfer;

Month 2 - Watercolor effects with Dye-na-flow paint;

Month 3 - Monoprinting (with gelatin and paint);

Month 4 - Angelina fiber and film;

Month 5 - Printing with Lumiere paint (direct application and stamped);

Month 6 - Fabric beads (felted, fabric, and tyvek);

Month 7 - Discharge (paste, pen & soft scrub)

Month 8 - Lutradur / Painted Fusible Web / Heavy interfacings;

Month 9 - Shiva paintsticks

Month 10 - Foiling
